Grouting the mural

Here you can see I am grouting the glass pieces in black grout ( my favorite) . Taking a break from the last women's hair  I am doing alittle grouting. 

The Women ......

A better view of the 6 women on the mural....Keep watching...The faces are painted in oils. The whole project is constructed out of 4x8 sheets of plywood
in a frame of 2x4s for strength then all 3 panels are bolted together to become one 12'x8' mural. and there are braces and legs in the back to stand up. Very heavy with all the glass and grout.

Here you can see I am working on the glass mosaic for the hair on the mural , I have designed the hair to be in glass mosaic and the background will be in found objects. The faces are painted in oils.

Women of Strength

 In this glass mosaic I have painted the face of the woman here in oils. She is a woman of strength. 
This is an example of the technique that I am using for my project for the competition in Grand Rapids Michigan." ArtPrize" .
My message is to all the woman out there in the world, their strength is  in a   community of women.
Together we can prosper, be secure, happy , conquer to opposition ,take care of each other and remain beautiful and dignified.
