Grouting the mural

Here you can see I am grouting the glass pieces in black grout ( my favorite) . Taking a break from the last women's hair  I am doing alittle grouting.

The Women ......

A better view of the 6 women on the mural....Keep watching...The faces are painted in oils. The whole project is constructed out of 4x8 sheets of plywood
in a frame of 2x4s for strength then all 3 panels are bolted together to become one 12'x8' mural. and there are braces and legs in the back to stand up. Very heavy with all the glass and grout.

Women of Strength

 In this glass mosaic I have painted the face of the woman here in oils. She is a woman of strength. 
This is an example of the technique that I am using for my project for the competition in Grand Rapids Michigan." ArtPrize" .
My message is to all the woman out there in the world, their strength is  in a   community of women.
Together we can prosper, be secure, happy , conquer to opposition ,take care of each other and remain beautiful and dignified.

My Meditation Pond

I had this vision one day to create a quiet place in my yard , a place to sit and meditate. Listening to the sound of water falling...I love to make things from nothing , beautiful areas. I started with the back drop made from old thrown out windows and columns. Built this screen with the curtains to gently flow in the breeze. Then I started on the pond. Asked for somewhere to find rocks , a friend dropped me off a truck load of them. WOW! Dug the shape to fit the pond liner I had from a previous job, built the sides up with bricks. Made the back taller for the waterfall.
Everything you see in this photo was given to me.
The 2 pine trees, the plants around the pond, the 2 old adirondack chairs , there is a small dogwood tree. The gazing globe and stand was made by my son the welder. The bark chips are from the city from chipped up trees. Its possible to have beauty even though you might not be rich, I am rich in talents and friends!  THANK YOU

Draft Horse Painting

I wanted to create a series of paintings. A friend mentioned Mackinaw Island and how the tourists love the area and want paintings of the images there. So I thought about the horses and how beautiful they are. I spent a day painting this powerful piece. There will be more to come.

Elegant Arts & Crafts Entry Way


From drab to Elegant this entry way transformed into a beautiful piece of art. The pattern on the wall was custom designed for the space. And the colors chose to fit the environment.
I also did the pre- removing of wall paper the patching and repainting of this entry way.
The mirror I used is the owners Great Grand mothers mirror she used
to have in her home. I take the old and use it with the new.

Antique Oriental Table

Look closely at this fine antique painted table. I restored the table back to the original painting , this peacock was ruined in a fire and the table restored . I painted the Peacock and the pin stripping around the outside.
It is painted in acrylic paints.
Just another way to use my talents.

The Mural at the MDOT in Grand Rapids , Michigan. Together with a fellow
artist , we labored over the design and spent many many weeks of mural painting
in the lobby of the MDOT. Located on Front Street in Downtown Grand Rapids.

Tree of Life Stained Glass

The phases of the moon adorn the branches of the tree, which portray the seasons of the earth. If you look closely , the wintry branches are made with flashed glass. Flashed glass is a process where colored glass is introduced to molten glass and the two pieces meld and become one. Then the glass is masked off in the areas to keep the color, and the glass is sand blasted to reveal the white wintry branch.
